Graz

Graz is the capital of Styria, in southern Austria, built around Hauptplatz, the main square of its medieval old town. Wander the narrow streets around it and you’ll find shops and restaurants tucked into a mix of Renaissance and baroque buildings. Take the funicular up Schlossberg, the town hill, to reach the Uhrturm, a clock tower that’s stood there for centuries. Cross the River Mur and you’ll hit the futuristic Kunsthaus Graz, showing off contemporary art.
